Alaska Native Community-Engaged Aging Lab
We are a community-driven research lab focused on promoting aging well, and addressing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as the stigma associated with caregiving for individuals with memory loss. Our team of researchers is dedicated to conducting research that is informed by and responsive to the needs of Alaska Native communities.

My name is Zoey Hilderbrand, I am a 21 year old junior undergraduate student at University of Alaska. I enjoy hiking, reading, traveling, and boating.
Murat Demir

I am currently a student in the M.S. in Clinical Psychology program at the University of Alaska Anchorage. My research interests include dementia, evolutionary psychology, and cultural adaptations for psychometric instruments. I also enjoy playing guitar and walking my dog.
Alexandra Timmins

​​Alexandra L. Timmins is a master's candidate in Clinical Psychology at UAA. She draws from a diverse research background rooted in her undergraduate studies in Quebec, where she explored disordered eating and neuropsychology. She is now focused on community-oriented approaches that highlight the significance of cultural context in mental health.

I am currently a second year student in the University of Alaska in Anchorage Clinical Psychology program. My research interests include cultural factors in suicide and severe mental illness. When I am not studying or conducting research, I enjoy hanging out with friends, spending time outdoors, and learning new skills.

My name is Jafer Al-Kalaf, I am a 24 year-old doctoral student in the Clinical-Community Psychology program at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I am a first-generation college student as well as a second-generation Iraqi immigrant. I enjoy music, hiking, and spending quality time with friends and family.
